A gender equity and inclusivity professional learning workshop for staff from early learning to Year 12 exploring creating inclusive and equitable environments for boys, girls and gender non-conforming children.

Body Safety Australia’s Professional Development workshop is listed in the School Readiness Funding Menu by the Victorian State Government Department of Education and Training for early childhood centres.

If you aren’t in Victoria or aren’t eligible for School Readiness Funding, call our team to discuss subsidised workshops.

This professional development course meets the following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST): 1.3, 1.5, 2.6, 3.7, 4.4, 6.2, 7.2 and 7.3

Professional Development

Offered as either:

2-hour workshop
Half day workshop 
Full day workshop 

  • Accurately define 'sex', 'sexuality', 'gender' and 'gender expression';  
  • Support the needs of LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, etc.) people;  
  • Identify current social and legislative changes affecting the community and your workplace;  
  • How to use inclusive language, including pronouns;  
  • Review the gender equity of your physical environment;  
  • Review policies, processes, and paperwork. 
  • Understand how societal norms of gender negatively impact all children and young people.
  • Create learning environments where children of all genders can thrive.
